Carson Hocevar faces backlash after Darlington collision with Brad Keselowski
Tensions flared in the NASCAR Cup Series following a collision at Darlington Raceway during the Cook Out Southern 500. Spire Motorsports driver Carson Hocevar made contact with Brad Keselowski’s No. 6 Ford on Lap 107, sending Keselowski spinning into the wall. While Hocevar finished 11th, Keselowski finished 23rd and issued a blunt warning, stating, “His day is coming, and it’s coming hard. Watch out, Carson.”
Hocevar responded to the incident with sarcasm, noting, “I’ll tighten my belts,” and later used the controversy to drive merchandise sales, which reportedly reached nearly $200,000 in 24 hours.
The incident also drew sharp criticism from veteran driver Denny Hamlin. Rather than focusing on Hocevar, Hamlin targeted the leadership of Spire Motorsports, calling the organization “unserious” and claiming there were “no adults in the room.” Former champion Kevin Harvick also weighed in, warning Hocevar that provoking an experienced driver like Keselowski would inevitably lead to him being “wrecked.”
