Brad Mooar named Fijian Drua head coach, Mike Catt added as assistant

Brad Mooar, former Crusaders and All Blacks assistant, has been appointed head coach of the Swire Shipping Fijian Drua. He said his priority will be building strong relationships with players, respecting their families and faith, and creating an environment where they feel valued and empowered.

Mike Catt, a 2003 Rugby World Cup winner and former England, Italy and Ireland attack coach, joins Mooar’s staff as senior assistant coach. Catt praised the Drua’s progress over the past five years and expressed excitement about contributing to Fijian rugby. The coaching changes follow the departure of Glen Jackson after two seasons in which the Drua finished 10th in Super Rugby Pacific but reached the playoffs in 2023 and 2024. CEO Jeff Miller welcomed the new appointments, saying they will bring fresh energy to the club and Fiji’s rugby ambitions.
