Brad Pitt faces family court battles as daughter Zahara drops his surname
Brad Pitt continues legal disputes stemming from his 2016 separation from Angelina Jolie. The actor is pressing for sole ownership of Château Miraval, the €140 million French winery the couple bought in 2008, and a court hearing is set for April 2027.
In parallel, the family’s estrangement deepened as several of the couple’s children have legally removed the Pitt surname. Zahara, 21, filed a petition in a California Superior Court to change her name to Zahara Jolie, following earlier changes by brother Maddox and sister Shiloh. The divorce was formally finalized in December 2024, but custody and personal grievances remain public, with reports that the name changes are “sad and lamentable” for Pitt.
The saga reflects ongoing tensions over property, custody and personal identity within one of Hollywood’s most high‑profile families.
