Brad Pitt joins Wim Wenders’ Peter Zumthor documentary

Brad Pitt has joined filmmaker Wim Wenders as an executive producer for the upcoming documentary ‘From Inside Out: The Architecture of Peter Zumthor’. The film, which Wenders has been filming for 14 years, explores the work of Pritzker Prize-winning Swiss architect Peter Zumthor.

Zumthor’s career is traced from his early family home designs in the Alps to his recently completed building for the Los Angeles County Museum of Art (LACMA). Pitt was a notable advocate for Zumthor’s LACMA design, having spoken at a decisive Los Angeles County hearing in 2019 to support the project.

The documentary, shot in 3D to immerse viewers in architectural spaces, will premiere out of competition at the Venice Film Festival next month. It covers various major projects, including the Therme Vals spa in Switzerland, the Kolumba Museum in Cologne, and the Steilneset Memorial in Norway, while also examining an abandoned museum project in Berlin.

While the film features a ‘Brad Pitt presents’ credit, producers noted that Pitt has no financial interest in the documentary and his production company, Plan B, was not involved in its production.
