Brad Pitt requests Angelina Jolie's tax records in Château Miraval lawsuit
Hollywood actors Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie remain locked in a court battle over the French wine estate Château Miraval. Pitt has asked a Los Angeles superior court to compel Jolie to produce her tax returns and other financial documents for 2017‑2019, arguing that the records are needed to assess whether she sold her share of the estate out of financial necessity.
Jolie’s lawyers contest the request, stating that she never claimed financial hardship and that forcing her to disclose older tax filings would “seriously violate her privacy.” They note she has already provided tax information for 2020‑2021 and emphasize that the dispute concerns her desire for economic independence from her ex‑husband, not a need for money. The French estate, bought by the couple in 2008, is now valued at roughly 1.7 billion kroner.
The divorce was finalized in December 2024, but the litigation over the winery, which began in February 2022, continues as both sides present competing narratives about the sale of the property and the relevance of Jolie’s earnings from major film roles during the disputed years.
