Brad Pitt stars in survival thriller Heart of the Beast

Brad Pitt will star in the upcoming survival thriller ‘Heart of the Beast’ (El corazón de la bestia), directed by David Ayer. The film is scheduled for theatrical release on September 24, 2026.

The story follows James Belmont, a former Special Forces operative, and his retired combat dog, Odin, after their plane crashes in a remote region of Alaska. The duo must navigate extreme cold, hunger, and dangerous wildlife to find their way back to civilization. Director David Ayer has emphasized that the film is a character-driven story focusing on the emotional bond between the man and his canine companion, rather than treating the dog as a mere prop.

Produced by Paramount Pictures, the film features a cast including J. K. Simmons and Anna Lambe. While the story is set in Alaska, production utilized the landscapes of New Zealand. The film marks a reunion for Pitt and Ayer, who previously collaborated on the 2014 war drama ‘Fury’.
