The project will be produced by Pitt through his company, Plan B Entertainment, alongside Dede Gardner and Jeremy Kleiner, with Berger serving as executive producer. Dennis Kelly is set to write the screenplay, though specific plot details remain confidential.

The sequel comes after more than a decade of development delays and several failed attempts to launch the project, which previously saw directors like David Fincher and J.A. Bayona attached.
