Bradenton man dies following August hit-and-run crash

A 47-year-old man, Jose Jimenez, has died from injuries sustained in a hit-and-run accident in Bradenton, Florida. The incident occurred on August 8 near 14th Street West and 19th Avenue when a Toyota 4Runner struck Jimenez while he was crossing the street with a bicycle.

Authorities arrested 34-year-old Lindsay Gore a few hours after the collision. Jimenez remained in critical condition for several days, during which time police were unable to identify him because he lacked identification and his fingerprints yielded no matches. He was eventually identified by a relative through surveillance footage. Officials have not yet confirmed if Gore’s felony charges will be upgraded following the victim's death.
