Monaco hosts filming for Ocean’s Eleven prequel starring Bradley Cooper

Filming for the Ocean’s Eleven prequel, currently titled ‘Sandcastles’, has commenced in Monaco. The production, directed by Bradley Cooper and starring alongside Margot Robbie, is recreating the atmosphere of the 1962 Monaco Grand Prix.

To facilitate the shoot, which is scheduled to conclude around August 28, local authorities have implemented traffic restrictions, including the closure of portions of the Formula 1 street circuit and the legendary tunnel. The film aims to depict a heist involving the parents of Danny Ocean, set against the backdrop of the early 1960s.

Key locations being utilized include Port Hercule, Casino Square, the Casino de Monte-Carlo, and Café de Paris. The production features hundreds of extras in period-accurate costumes and vintage racing cars to maintain historical authenticity. The film is expected to be released in late May 2027.
