Brady Tkachuk discusses receiving boos from Canadian fans
NHL player Brady Tkachuk discussed his experiences with hostile fan reactions during a recent episode of the ‘Wingmen’ podcast with his brother, Matthew. Tkachuk, who recently won Olympic gold with Team USA, noted that he frequently receives boos from Canadian audiences.
He ranked Toronto as the location with the loudest boos, specifically citing an instance where he was featured on the Jumbotron following a scrum. He followed this by ranking Edmonton second and Calgary third for the intensity of the jeers. Tkachuk stated that he enjoys the negative attention, remarking, ‘I love getting booed. I think it's so funny, it's great. It means you're doing something right.’
During the discussion, Tkachuk also mentioned that he heard no boos in Vancouver or Seattle. His comment regarding Seattle drew attention on social media, as the city is located in the United States rather than Canada.
