Braga presents urban renaturalization projects in Denmark
The Municipality of Braga participated in a European meeting in Vejle, Denmark, as part of the (Re)Natured Cities project. During the event, the city showcased two major urban interventions: the Camellia Park and the renaturalization of the Este River.
These projects focus on developing green and blue corridors to enhance biodiversity, manage waterways, and create accessible natural areas for the population. The Este River intervention was presented in collaboration with the partner company E-RIO, highlighting solutions for ecosystem management and urban resilience.
The (Re)Natured Cities initiative, which runs from 2025 to 2027, aims to empower European municipalities to manage urban ecosystems more sustainably. The international consortium includes partners from Portugal, Denmark, Cyprus, Ireland, and Italy. Braga is scheduled to host the project's final event in 2027.
