Bragado residents protest repeal of natural gas tariff discounts

In Bragado, more than 1,500 residents have signed a petition to oppose a national government project currently in the Senate that seeks to repeal the ‘Zona Fría’ (Cold Zone) regime.

Under Law No. 27,637 established in 2021, the regime provides residential natural gas tariff discounts ranging from 30% to 50% in low-temperature areas, including parts of the Buenos Aires Province. Rolando Marchetti, director of the Municipal Office of Consumer Information, warned that if the repeal is approved, it could lead to significant gas price increases, further straining the economic situation of local families.
