Brain Jar Games releases major update for Dead as Disco

Brain Jar Games has released its largest Early Access update to date for the rhythm-driven brawler Dead as Disco. The update introduces Dahlia, a new Idol boss and former bandmate of the protagonist, Charlie Disco. The encounter takes place in a new story level set in The Nightshade, a venue combining a club with a botanical garden. The boss fight features multiple stages that transition from lush greenery to a landscape of fire and ash as Dahlia reveals her Death Form.

New gameplay elements include the Flamecho enemy type and the Burn status effect, which deals damage in synchronization with the music. Defeating Dahlia unlocks a new skill tree, including the Phantom Dance ability. The update also adds two new arenas, eight challenges, new cosmetics, dance moves, and five songs, including versions of the track ‘La Pantera’.

Dead as Disco has surpassed 500,000 players and maintains an ‘Overwhelmingly Positive’ rating on Steam. Additionally, the title has been nominated for Best Early Access Game at the 2026 Golden Joystick Awards.
