Hewlett Packard Enterprise completes Juniper Networks acquisition
Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) has successfully completed its $14 billion acquisition of Juniper Networks following a judicial ruling. A U.S. District Court judge approved the settlement between HPE and the U.S. Department of Justice, declaring the agreement to be in the public interest.
The acquisition had faced significant scrutiny, including an objection from several U.S. state attorneys general who argued the settlement was not legitimate. The case was noted as one of the most significant courtroom vettings of an antitrust settlement between the government and a technology company in three decades.
Despite criticisms regarding the sufficiency of divestitures required by the Department of Justice, the court moved forward with the approval. HPE stated it is excited to begin unlocking innovation through the integrated organization.
