Brajbhushan Sharan Singh Holds Gonda Rally After Delhi Court Acquittal
Former MP Brajbhushan Sharan Singh, cleared of all charges by a Delhi court, addressed a large crowd at a "Satyaev Jayate" rally in Gonda, Uttar Pradesh on 6 August. He thanked supporters from nearly every district of the state and claimed the allegations against him were part of a political conspiracy.
Singh said a list of 42 individuals, organisations and political parties had worked to tarnish his image, accusing opposition groups and some industrialists of funding the campaign. He praised the central government’s handling of related student issues, lauded officials such as Dharmendra Pradhan, and warned that the current opposition lacks a clear ideology. The rally was presented as a response to what Singh described as attempts to portray him as a criminal.
