Bramble Foods opens 67,000‑sq‑ft hub in Market Harborough, adds 50 jobs

Family‑owned Bramble Foods has opened a new 67,000 sq ft distribution centre, Lancaster House, at Airfield Business Park in Market Harborough, Leicestershire. The state‑of‑the‑art facility will serve as the company’s main national hub, expanding warehousing capacity and supporting its portfolio of premium food brands such as Whitakers Chocolates.

The site, built by Leicestershire County Council, incorporates electric‑vehicle charging points, enhanced insulation and a 50 kW solar array expected to save up to 50,000 kWh a year. Bramble Foods, which already employs around 300 people, expects the new hub to create 50 skilled jobs over the coming years. The opening ceremony was attended by managing director Tony Foster, council cabinet member Harrison Fowler and long‑serving employee Steve Heighton, who marked his 50th anniversary with the business.

Council officials highlighted that the expansion of Airfield Business Park, now 190,000 sq ft, will bolster the local economy and generate additional revenue for public services.
