Branden Grace leaves LIV Golf to return to DP World Tour
South African golfer Branden Grace has announced his departure from LIV Golf to return to full-time competition on the DP World Tour for the 2026/27 season. Grace, a nine-time DP World Tour champion, follows his former captain Louis Oosthuizen in leaving the breakaway circuit.
Grace’s exit leaves only Charl Schwartzel and Dean Burmester on the Southern Guards roster. The move comes as the team faces an approaching funding deadline. Grace, who joined LIV in 2022, has earned over $38 million during his time on the circuit.
Renowned for holding the record for the lowest single-round score in men’s Major Championship history—a 62 at the 2017 Open Championship—Grace expressed that returning to the DP World Tour “feels like coming home.” His professional career includes 15 victories worldwide, including two PGA Tour titles and multiple landmark wins on the European-based circuit.
