Brandenburg authorities respond to violent youth group attacks

Authorities in Brandenburg are responding to a series of violent attacks carried out by youth groups. In Potsdam, a specialized task force for youth violence has been established following multiple incidents. A security conference involving the police, city officials, the prosecutor's office, and the school office was held to coordinate responses.

In Frankfurt (Oder), a recent incident involving approximately ten teenagers aged 13 to 15 attacking a student at a high school has caused widespread shock. The perpetrators filmed the assault and distributed the video online. Interior Minister Jan Redmann stated that the focus is on immediate repression to stop the violence, noting that perpetrators must face swift consequences. Officials are also examining the possibility of deportations.

In Brandenburg an der Havel, police are searching for four teenagers following an incident where two children were targeted with a firework in a park. While the victims were uninjured, the event has added to the growing concerns regarding youth-led violence in the region.
