Brandenburg Land Market Surges as Sales and Prices Rise

The Brandenburg interior ministry presented the 2025 land market report in Potsdam, showing a continued recovery of the regional property sector. In 2025, 27,050 purchase contracts were concluded, a 7 % increase over the previous year, and total transaction volume rose 13 % to €7.2 billion.

Land prices in the immediate Berlin suburbs remained stable at about €318 per square metre, while prices in the wider metropolitan area rose to an average €111 per square metre, up from €103 in 2024. Improved transport links and the growth of home‑office work were cited as key drivers of interest beyond the traditional belt. New owner‑occupied apartments saw strong demand, with an average price of €423,000 (≈€6,141 per sqm). The highest number of contracts were recorded in Potsdam, Oranienburg, Cottbus and Zossen. State Secretary Uwe Schüler highlighted the positive signal for the region, and Wilk Mroß, chair of the Upper Valuation Committee, confirmed the market’s upward trend.
