Brandon Aiyuk Faces Arrest Warrant Over Speeding After Injury Layoff
San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk, 28, has had an arrest warrant issued in California for a misdemeanor speeding violation. The warrant follows a video he posted showing himself speeding near Levi’s Stadium, after the 49ers voided the guarantees in his contract for failing to communicate during a prolonged rehabilitation from a torn ACL, MCL and meniscus that limited him to seven games in 2024.
Aiyuk apologized on social media, noting the incident occurred on a closed race track. While the 49ers are expected to move on from him, reports suggest the Washington Commanders could be interested, though his legal issues, health status and mental readiness remain uncertain.
The situation adds uncertainty to Aiyuk’s future in the NFL as teams evaluate his physical condition and the impact of the legal matter on roster decisions.
