Brandon Aiyuk's arrest warrant fuels 49ers push to trade or cut him
Santa Clara County prosecutors issued a misdemeanor arrest warrant for San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk after he posted a video showing himself exceeding a 40 mph speed limit near Levi Stadium. The warrant follows an investigation that confirmed the speeding incident captured by Aiyuk in December.
The 49ers have already voided roughly $27 million of guaranteed salary after Aiyuk missed the 2025 season recovering from a torn ACL and MCL. With a strained relationship and his sizable contract, the team is exploring trade options, and recent Instagram activity—unfollowing everyone except his wife, the Washington Commanders’ official account and quarterback Jayden Daniels—has heightened speculation that the Commanders could be his next destination.
