Brandon Kazakoff pleads guilty to fatal vehicle incident in Kelowna
Brandon Kazakoff has entered guilty pleas in a Kelowna court for dangerous operation of a vehicle causing death and assault. The charges stem from a fatal incident on October 21, 2023, involving 15-year-old Tristan Seeger.
According to court proceedings, Kazakoff was searching for a group of teenagers after his family members had been bear-sprayed. After an initial encounter where Kazakoff assaulted one of the teens, he returned to his vehicle. During a subsequent interaction where Seeger deployed bear spray at Kazakoff’s car, Kazakoff turned his vehicle around and struck Seeger in a crosswalk. Kazakoff fled the scene, and Seeger died the following day.
Following the incident, Kazakoff attempted to obscure his involvement by obtaining new license plates and eventually burning his vehicle on a forest service road. He was arrested in September 2024.
