Brandon Mechele earns Man of the Match honors in Club Brugge victory

Club Brugge defender Brandon Mechele achieved personal milestones during his team’s 3-0 victory against Oud-Heverlee Leuven. Mechele scored a goal via a header from a Mamadou Diakhon cross and was subsequently named the Jupiler Man of the Match, marking the first time he has received the trophy.

Mechele expressed his satisfaction with the individual award, noting that his wife would be pleased with the achievement. Despite the dominant scoreline, he emphasized that the match required significant effort.

Currently, Mechele has played 552 matches for Club Brugge and is working toward breaking Franky Van der Elst’s club record of 619 appearances. The team has also recorded two clean sheets in the first two matchdays of the season.
