Brandon Nakashima replaces Ben Shelton for Laver Cup

Ben Shelton has withdrawn from the upcoming Laver Cup at London’s O2 Arena, scheduled for September 25-27. The decision follows a heavy workload for the world No. 4, including a run to the US Open final and participation in the Davis Cup in Czechia.

Brandon Nakashima, currently ranked world No. 16, will replace Shelton on the Team World roster. Nakashima, a fellow American, expressed excitement about making his debut under captain Andre Agassi. He joins teammates including Taylor Fritz, Alexander Bublik, and Learner Tien.

Team Europe, captained by Yannick Noah, will compete against Team World. The European roster features players such as Alexander Zverev, Carlos Alcaraz, and Casper Ruud.
