Brandon Sanderson seeks partner for Mistborn video game adaptation

Author Brandon Sanderson has expressed interest in adapting his Mistborn book series into a video game. In an interview with IGN, Sanderson noted that as a lifelong gamer, he has considered the possibility frequently, but emphasized that finding the right studio partner is essential due to the high investment required for modern game development.

Sanderson indicated that Mistborn would likely be his first choice for an adaptation because the magic mechanics and world-building lend themselves naturally to the medium. While a video game is not imminent, the franchise is expanding into other formats; a Mistborn film adaptation is currently in development, and Brotherwise Games is releasing Mistborn expansions for the Cosmere RPG tabletop series.
