Brandon Spikes confirms Luke Combs high school football story

Former NFL linebacker Brandon Spikes has confirmed a story shared by country music star Luke Combs regarding a high school football game between their respective teams.

Appearing on the podcast ‘Bussin’ With the Boys’, Spikes validated Combs’ account of an intense matchup in North Carolina. Combs recalled that during the game, Spikes dominated the field, specifically noting an incident where Spikes allegedly ripped a dreadlock from an opposing player's head and wore it around his wrist like a bracelet for the remainder of the game.

Combs, who grew up in Asheville, North Carolina, previously shared the anecdote to illustrate the physical intensity of the game. Spikes, who played for Crest High School in Shelby before winning two national championships at the University of Florida and playing in the NFL, nodded in agreement, stating, “That was a true story.”
