Brandon Woodruff returns to Milwaukee Brewers roster

Milwaukee Brewers pitcher Brandon Woodruff has returned to the roster following a significant shoulder injury. After initially fearing he would require another capsule surgery—a procedure that previously sidelined him for 20 months—consultations with Dr. Keith Meister determined that surgery would not be necessary.

Woodruff, a 33-year-old veteran who has spent 10 seasons with the Brewers, focused on a monotonous rehabilitation process to prepare for a potential postseason role. While the club considered using him as an opener for Game 3 of the World Series against the Tampa Bay Rays, they ultimately opted to stick with Robert Gasser, who has maintained a 1.00 ERA during the postseason.

Despite not yet pitching in a game, Woodruff's presence in the clubhouse remains significant for the organization. His return follows a period of uncertainty regarding his ability to pitch at the Major League level again.
