Brands Merge SEO, Google Ads and AI Search as Channel Silos Collapse

Marketers note that consumers now encounter brands across paid ads, organic results, and AI‑driven answers, making separate channel strategies inefficient. SEO, Google Ads and generative engine optimization (GEO) are increasingly managed together to avoid duplicated keyword work, fragmented reporting and unclear attribution.

AI‑search traffic has surged, growing about 43 % to roughly 27.4 billion visits in a year, while weekly active users of ChatGPT doubled to 800 million. Visits from AI tools tend to convert better because users are further along in the decision process. At the same time, zero‑click searches dominate: over 60 % of Google queries in the United States end without a click, and when an AI overview appears the rate can exceed 80 %. The convergence of these trends is prompting brands to integrate SEO, paid search and AI‑focused optimization under a single agency or team.
