Brandsen police raid nightclub to rescue 111 fighting cocks

Argentine Federal Police rescued 111 fighting cocks during a raid on a nightclub located in Brandsen, Buenos Aires province. The operation targeted a clandestine network used for illegal cockfighting and betting.

The investigation, led by prosecutor Mariana Albizu, confirmed that the venue on Provincial Route 215 hosted fights with cash prizes for winners. Following an order from Judge Guillermo Atencio, authorities conducted the raid, resulting in the arrest of 27 men, including the alleged organizer.

In addition to the animals, which were transferred to a recovery farm, officers seized 9 million pesos, two mobile phones, four competition trophies, and relevant documentation. The suspects face charges for violating Law 14.346 regarding animal cruelty.
