Temiskaming Shores to host emergency train exercise

The Ontario Provincial Police and local emergency response partners will conduct a planned emergency exercise in Temiskaming Shores on Thursday, September 24.

The drill is scheduled to take place near the Sunnyside Road railway crossing and will involve the Ontario Northland (ONR) Northlander passenger train. The exercise is designed to allow emergency responders to practice and evaluate their coordinated response to a simulated emergency involving a passenger train. Members of the public may notice an increased presence of emergency services personnel, vehicles, and equipment in the area during the event.
