Brașov begins demolition of Tineretului Stadium for new arena
Demolition has commenced at the Tineretului Stadium in Brașov as part of a major project to construct a new modern arena. The initial technical step involved dismantling the floodlight installation poles.
The new stadium is expected to have a capacity of approximately 9,716 seats and is estimated to cost around 165 million lei (30 million euros) plus VAT. Funding for the project is being provided by the Romanian Government through the National Investment Company (CNI) and the Brașov City Hall. Following the demolition of existing stands and a four-month design phase, construction is expected to take roughly 19 months. The facility is intended to meet UEFA accreditation requirements and host various types of events beyond football.
