Brașov County official flag approved by Romanian Government
The Romanian Government has officially approved the flag for Brașov County through Government Decision no. 578/30.07.2026, as published in the Official Gazette. The design was developed by specialists from the Brașov County Council in coordination with the National Commission of Heraldry, Genealogy, and Sigillography of the Romanian Academy.
The flag features a “caeruleus” blue background with the county's coat of arms positioned in the center. Below the coat of arms, the words “JUDEȚUL BRAȘOV” are written in bold, gold-colored capital letters. Both sides of the flag are identical.
According to Adrian-Ioan Veştea, President of the Brașov County Council, the adoption of this symbol represents an important administrative moment that respects local identity. The design is intended to reflect the historical essence of the region, uniting the memories of Făgăraș Land, the Seat of Rupea, and Brașov.
