Brașov Opera to host rescheduled performance of ‘The Sound of Music’

Brașov musical theatre opera The Sound of Music Carmen

The musical ‘The Sound of Music’ by Richard Rodgers is scheduled to be performed at the Brașov Opera on Saturday, September 26, 2026, at 18:30. This performance is a rescheduling of a show originally set for June 6, 2026, which was canceled due to a major power outage caused by a storm in Brașov.

Based on the biography of Maria Augusta von Trapp, the musical tells the story of Maria Rainer, a young postulant who becomes a governess for the seven children of Captain von Trapp. The narrative follows the family as they navigate the Nazi occupation of Austria and eventually flee to Switzerland.
