Brașov residents can switch to individual water contracts

Residents in apartment buildings in Brașov, Romania, have the option to transition from collective water and sewerage contracts managed by homeowners' associations to individual contracts with Compania Apa Brașov.

To qualify, residents must meet specific technical and administrative requirements under Law no. 241/2006. This includes obtaining written consent from all property owners in the condominium, providing updated land registry extracts, and ensuring all apartments use compatible water meters with remote reading capabilities. These meters must be installed in a common area accessible to company representatives.

Additionally, the entire building must transition to the new system simultaneously, moving from vertical to horizontal distribution. The costs for these technical modifications and investments are to be borne entirely by the property owners.
