Brașov rises to second in Romanian job recruitment rankings

Recent data from the recruitment platform eJobs.ro reveals significant trends in the Romanian labor market. Bucharest remains the dominant hub, accounting for approximately 71,000 of the nearly 150,000 jobs posted since January, representing almost half of the national total. Brașov has seen the most significant rise in the rankings, moving from fifth place in 2025 to second place this year, followed by Ilfov, Cluj, Iași, Constanța, and Timiș.

Small and micro-sized companies (employing between 0 and 50 people) have become major drivers of employment, generating over 66,000 jobs, or roughly 40% of the total market. These smaller firms are particularly attractive to entry-level candidates seeking flexible environments and direct access to management.

Across most regions outside of Bucharest, the highest volume of job openings is concentrated in retail, food industry, services, tourism, finance/banking, and transport/logistics. Approximately 60% of the total job supply is directed toward entry-level candidates. In contrast, senior-level and managerial positions remain the most difficult to recruit due to higher stability and lower application rates.
