Brașov secures major sanitation and road maintenance contracts

The Brașov City Hall has awarded an eight-year contract for urban sanitation and snow removal services to the association of Comprest SA and RS Activ. The contract, which covers 96 months, has a maximum value of approximately 634.34 million lei (excluding VAT), falling below the initial estimated acquisition value of 741.14 million lei.

The agreement is divided into two lots covering different sectors of the city. The first lot includes the northern area, such as the Timiș-Triaj, Craiter, and Bartolomeu neighborhoods, and was won by the Comprest–RS Activ association. The second lot covers the southern half of the municipality, including the Center, Astra, and Poiana Brașov areas.

Services under this contract include street sweeping, washing, waste collection, and snow removal, as well as maintaining public roads during ice and frost conditions. This follows a re-launched tender process after a previous attempt in early 2024 was canceled due to technical and procedural reasons.

In a separate maintenance effort, the Brașov County Council is currently conducting vegetation management on the county road network. Under the coordination of Vice President Daniel Şoim, companies such as SC Geiger Brașov SRL are performing mowing, pruning, and the removal of dry branches to improve visibility and safety on various regional roads, including segments of the DJ 104 and DJ 105 networks.
