Brașov to host exhibition honoring soprano Lucia Stănescu
An exhibition titled ‘Arta Cantata | Arta ca Destin’ will be held at the George Barițiu County Library in Brașov on September 30, 2026. The event honors the life and career of Lucia Stănescu (1926–2020), a prominent Romanian soprano of the 20th century.
Stănescu, known for her performances at the Cluj-Napoca Romanian Opera and her subsequent career in Italy, was the first singing professor at the ‘Pietro Mascagni’ Conservatory in Livorno. The exhibition highlights her artistic journey and her deep connections to Brașov.
During the opening, the autobiographical book ‘A fost o viață sau un vis?’ will be launched. The volume provides a personal account of her childhood, musical training, international career, and experiences as an emigrant in Italy.
