Brașov Zoo celebrates International Wolf Day with educational activities
The Brașov Zoo is hosting a special program to celebrate International Wolf Day on Thursday, August 13. The event, scheduled between 10:00 and 16:00, features interactive workshops, themed games, and educational challenges designed primarily for children and wildlife enthusiasts.
Participants will learn about the biology, behavior, and adaptations of the gray wolf (Canis lupus), as well as its critical role as an apex predator in maintaining ecosystem balance and biodiversity. The zoo currently houses two 9-year-old male gray wolves named Amaraq and Thor, whom visitors can observe during the event.
While the gray wolf is not considered an endangered species globally, the program emphasizes its importance as an indicator of healthy natural habitats and its role in regulating herbivore populations.
