Brasília hosts World Catholic Doctors Congress focusing on AI and digital transformation

The XXVII World Catholic Doctors Congress began in Brasília on May 30 and runs through June 1. The three‑day gathering, held at the Paróquia Nossa Senhora da Esperança and the Casa Dom Luciano, brings together more than 370 health professionals from 15 countries across five continents. It is the first time the congress is held in Brazil and only the second occurrence in Latin America.

The congress, organized by the International Federation of Catholic Medical Associations and Brazil's Catholic Doctors Association, centers on the theme “Catholic doctors between the industrial and digital revolutions.” Sessions address the ethical and practical implications of artificial intelligence in clinical practice, alongside spiritual formation. Key figures include Cardinal Paulo Cezar Costa, Archbishop of Brasília, Dom Ricardo Hoepers, Secretary‑General of the National Conference of Bishops of Brazil, and Monsignor Renzo Pegoraro, President of the Pontifical Academy for Life.
