Brasília launches major LGBTQ+ pride festival and historic exhibition

The Brasília Orgulho 2026 festival opened on July 10 at Liberty Mall and will run for 16 days from July 11‑26. The program features fashion shows by LGBTQIAPN+ designers, a charitable dinner by chef Iana Mallmann, and the Alexandre Ribondi award, presented to activist Melissa Navarro for her work on diversity and rights.

From August to October, the Museu Nacional da República will host the exhibition "Utopias em construção: Brasília nas dobras do tempo," a partnership between Metrópoles and the Arquivo Público do Distrito Federal. The show displays historic documents, photographs, architectural plans and contemporary art to illustrate the capital’s development, and will continue as an educational resource at the public archive with guided visits for schools.
