Copa do Brasil: Single-match final set for Brasília and record broadcasting deal
The Confederação Brasileira de Futebol (CBF) has announced significant changes to the Copa do Brasil, including a new broadcasting and commercial model. For the 2027–2030 cycle, the CBF secured broadcasting rights worth over R$ 4 billion, an increase of more than 80% compared to the previous period. The deal involves Grupo Globo, Amazon, and ESPN. Regarding the 2026 tournament, the CBF has designated the Arena Mané Garrincha in Brasília as the venue for the final, which will be played as a single match on December 6, 2026. This marks the first time in the competition's history that the final will not be a two-legged affair. The semifinals have been set through a draw: Grêmio will face Atlético-MG, and Palmeiras will face Vasco. The first legs are scheduled for early November, with Atlético-MG and Vasco hosting the second legs. The champion will receive R$ 78 million and a direct spot in the 2027 Copa Libertadores group stage, while the runner-up will enter the preliminary phase.
