CBF secures R$ 4 billion broadcasting deal and sets Copa do Brasil final

The Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) has announced major changes to the Copa do Brasil, including a record-breaking broadcasting rights deal and a new tournament format. For the 2027–2030 cycle, the CBF secured over R$ 4 billion in rights, an 80% increase from the previous contract. The deal involves Grupo Globo, Amazon Prime Video, and ESPN. To enhance visibility, the CBF will produce its own single signal for all matches and aims to nearly double the number of games shown on free-to-air television.

Regarding the 2026 competition, the CBF confirmed that the final will be held as a single match for the first time in the tournament's history. The final is scheduled for December 6, 2026, at the Arena Mané Garrincha in Brasília. The semifinal matchups have been determined through a draw: Grêmio will face Atlético-MG, while Palmeiras will play Vasco da Gama. Atlético-MG and Vasco will host the second legs of the semifinals. The winners of these matchups will secure spots in the 2027 Copa Libertadores.
