Brasília Women's Protection Forum Opens Registrations

Registrations are open for the third edition of the "Todas Elas" Integration Forum, scheduled for 17 August at the headquarters of the Ministério Público do Distrito Federal e Territórios (MPDFT) in Brasília. Organized by the MPDFT's Gender Nucleus, the event will bring together judges, public security officials, service providers, managers, professionals and community members to discuss strategies for preventing and addressing violence against women, coinciding with the 20th anniversary of the Maria da Penha Law.

A recent survey by the Instituto de Pesquisa e Estatística do Distrito Federal (IPEDF) and the Secretaria da Mulher found that 77.6 % of women in the Federal District have experienced some form of intimate partner violence, though only 44.8 % recognize it as such. The study, conducted in November 2025, highlighted psychological, physical and sexual abuse as the most common forms, while moral, psychological and patrimonial violence were less often identified. Among respondents, 21.5 % reported recent violence, with significant emotional and familial impacts reported by victims.
