Slovakia hosts diverse cultural festivals and SNP commemorations

Various cultural and commemorative events are taking place across Slovakia. In Bratislava, the 51st edition of the Bratislava Cultural Summer concludes with a series of free events at Námestie slobody, including performances by the Slovak Philharmonic, indie-pop concerts, and a theatrical tribute to the late Ján Filip.

In Banská Bystrica, preparations for the 81st anniversary of the Slovak National Uprising (SNP) have led to significant traffic and parking restrictions. The city has implemented road closures and is providing shuttle services to accommodate visitors attending the commemorations at the SNP Museum.

Other regional highlights include the Scénická žatva amateur theater festival in Martin, the 62nd anniversary of the Zlatá prilba SNP motorcycle races in Žarnovica, and a large Greek Catholic pilgrimage in Ľutina, which drew over 10,000 believers. Additionally, the Jozef Bednárik musical festival in Brusno recently honored several artists, including Ján Gallovič and Zdeněk Merta.
