Bratislava jazz season begins with National Jazz Orchestra and duo concerts

The Slovak jazz scene is preparing for a series of upcoming performances in Bratislava. The Slovak National Jazz Orchestra will open its first concert season on September 15 at V-klub. The 18-member big band will feature special guest Tony Lakatos, a prominent European tenor saxophonist. The program will include music from the album ‘Wild Land’ and unique orchestral arrangements of Lakatos’s compositions.

Additionally, a warm-up event for Jazz Days Bratislava will take place on September 11 at the Metropol venue. This concert will feature three musical duos: Peter Lipa and Gabriel Jonáš, Dániel Szebény and Dániel Usztics, and Simona Hulejová and Ľubomír Gašpar. The performances aim to blend jazz with blues, folklore, and chanson.
