Bratislava main station reconstruction mostly on schedule
The reconstruction of the Bratislava main railway station is proceeding according to schedule for most components, though certain areas face delays. The first stage of the project, a small-scale reconstruction costing approximately 1.85 million EUR (excluding VAT), was originally slated for completion by the end of September.
Železnice Slovenskej republiky (ŽSR) reported that while most works will meet the deadline, the renovation of underground toilets will be delayed. This delay is due to the necessity of performing unforeseen remedial work related to increased moisture levels in the basement.
The first phase of the project includes the installation of air conditioning units in waiting areas, new luggage spaces, and a new barrier-free connection between passages. A larger stage of modernization is expected to follow in the future.
