Bratislava police seize forged Israeli passports from Georgian nationals

During a routine security check at M. R. Štefánika Airport in Bratislava, border officers identified two Georgian citizens attempting to board a flight to Tel Aviv with biometric Israeli passports that contained false personal data. A secondary inspection confirmed the documents were forged. The suspects were detained on the spot, their freedom restricted, and they were handed over to the appropriate criminal investigation unit. The forged passports were seized as evidence. Police spokesperson Zuzana Hrabovská highlighted that thorough border checks can uncover serious irregularities and help protect EU borders.

The incident underscores the importance of vigilant immigration controls in preventing the use of counterfeit travel documents.
