Bratislava residents report declining public safety

Residents of Bratislava are reporting a decline in public safety, particularly in central areas such as Trnavské mýto and near the Central shopping center. Locals describe an increasing presence of drug dealers and users engaging in transactions and drug use in public spaces during daylight hours.

Community members have noted frequent disturbances, including loud arguments, shouting, and the presence of discarded syringes near residential entrances. These issues have led some residents to consider moving away from the city center due to a perceived atmosphere of fear and disorder.

The growing concern regarding public order and safety has become a prominent topic ahead of upcoming municipal elections, with mayoral candidates such as Martin Winkler and Rudolf Kusý incorporating these issues into their political campaigns.
