Brattleboro Buddy Walk to celebrate inclusion on Oct. 3

Health Care and Rehabilitation Services (HCRS) has announced the 2026 Brattleboro Buddy Walk, scheduled for Saturday, Oct. 3, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Brattleboro Town Common. The event is designed to celebrate the contributions of people with intellectual and developmental disabilities through a one-mile walk in downtown Brattleboro.

The community event will include music, games, prizes, lunch, and various vendors. HCRS is coordinating the walk in partnership with organizer Jim Nicholson. According to HCRS CEO Anne Bilodeau, the goal is to create a community where everyone feels they belong while recognizing the talents and strengths of individuals with different abilities.

Proceeds from the walk will support Special Olympics programs for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in Windham County. Local sponsors for the event include Casella and M&T Bank.
