Braunschweig pavilion shortlisted for state architecture prize
A temporary architecture pavilion located on Burgplatz in Braunschweig has been selected as one of ten finalists for the 2026 Lower Saxony State Prize for Architecture. The pavilion was the sole entry from Braunschweig among 100 total applications.
The project resulted from a collaboration between the City of Braunschweig, the Technical University of Braunschweig, and the Association of German Architects (BDA). Designed by winners Marcus Aurelius Jensen of JUHU! Architektur and Marc-André Tiede, the structure features a distinctive grandstand architecture intended to serve as an open space for culture, discourse, and social interaction.
