Brave browser claims lower CPU and memory usage than major competitors

Brave has released desktop benchmark results claiming its browser outperforms Chrome, Edge, and Firefox in resource efficiency and speed. The tests, conducted on macOS using an Apple M2 chip, compared the browsers using their default settings.

According to the company, Brave used an average of 44% less CPU and 28% less memory than the combined average of its competitors. The study also reported that Brave consumed 10% less energy, achieved 20% faster page completion times, and reduced inbound network traffic by 26%.

Brave attributes these performance advantages to its native, built-in ad and tracker blocking capabilities. By preventing the loading of advertising and tracking resources that other browsers typically fetch, the browser reduces unnecessary network requests and processing loads.
